Experience the life of the 661-2 shrank-wood, born as a scrap of the 661-2 top beam-wood production, the undisputed witness of the 12 km trip from the wood to the wooden house. Take back the 661-2 shrank wood in the Vallon di Ponente, a wood in the Val Pesarina (UD), thanks to the four numbers written on the 661-2 shrank wood. Put it on the stump, where it grew up. Look at the sky through the space made free by knocking down the 66 tree to allow solar light in and to naturally regenerate the wood.
This trip was conceived, created and living by Sadilegno (www.sadilegno.it) and by the engineer Samuele Giacometti, his wife Sarah and their children Diego, Diana and Pablo.
This trip is peppered with various achievements reached first, which recalls how Mario Ferretti, an Italian radio commenter, described one of the most incredible feat of cycling history. It was the leg from Cuneo to Pinerolo, where Fausto Coppi climbed alone the Maddalena, the Vars, the Izoard, the Monginevro and the Sestriere, arriving 12 minutes before Gino Bartali. Mario Ferretti declared: “There is only one man on command, his shirt is white-light blue, his name is Fausto Coppi”. It was on the 10th June 1949 and it was the 17th leg of the 19th of the Giro d’Italia. The total course was 4088 km
