12-to-Many, From the woods to CryptoArt

XIX, XX and XXI. These are the three centuries in which the journey was born, has developed and was told. This journey features the, more unique than rare, story behind the 12-to-Many artworks. Watch the video presentation of artwork Secular Clock 39b
The presence of these works on OPENSEA platform would allow for the first time in the world to link material traceability with digital traceability. The tokens that will be created for the 12-to-Many works will in fact guarantee the possibility of retracing the journey back to the woods that gave rise to the wood of which we are telling the story.
he story behind our works is therefore characterized by a round trip, from the forest to the house and from the house to the forest, which sees wood and the SaDiLegno traceability system. This system, conceived and developed by Samuele Giacometti, has made it possible to organize, control and record the activities of the production chain necessary to transform the wood from the forest to the home, allowing then to retrace that journey backwards, from the house to the forest. In 2012 in Rio de Janeiro, during the work of the ONU Conference on Sustainable Development RIO + 20, the PEFC International (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) presented it as an example of real environmental, social and economic sustainability through the video “From wood to the wooden house in 12 km”.
A journey through wood characterized by three distinct phases: generation, transformation and storytelling.
The first phase goes from the XIX to the beginning of the XI century, when the woods called "Fassa" and "Vallon di ponente", in Val Pesarina, in the heart of the Pesarine Dolomites, generated the wood of the 43 trees (27 spruces, 3 white firs and 13 larches) used to make Samuele's dream come true, living in a wooden house with his wife Sarah and their three children Diego, Diana and Pablo. It is important to underline the fact that those woods, owned by the "Administration of Frational Heritage of Pesariis", are managed according to the environmental, social and economic sustainability standards of the PEFC.
The second phase began on December 18, 2007 with the chioce of trees thanks to the forestry doctor and the knowledge of the local forest-wood supply chain, consisting of lumberjack, sawmill, carpenter, joiner and sculptor who still live and work in the immediate vicinity of those forests and which allowed the transformation of the wood of those trees into the "Eco-sustainable Wooden House" and its furnishings, built in Sostasio, one of the hamlets of the Municipality of Prato Carnico in Val Pesarina. All this took place within a circumference with a radius of 12 km and centered in the forest of origin of the wood used.
In 2010 the dream was realized and the Giacometti family, after having lived the extraordinary and unique experience of transforming wood, could start living the house created thanks to the use of raw materials and local knowledge. Meanwhile, while numerous prizes were awarded to the house, Samuele continued an intense activity of communication and disclosure of what had been achieved (Testimonials) thus starting the third phase dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of this extraordinary journey.
On 12-21-2012 SaDiLegno became a company and, thanks to an innovative project co-financed by the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, it allowed the birth of 12-to-Many, the first network of companies in Italy in the forest-wood supply chain, whose nodes it was precisely those feats that had allowed Samuele's dream to come true. The primary purpose of the network is to bring attention to the forest by promoting the transformation of wood close to its origins following standards of environmental, social and economic sustainability, just exactly the same as that of the artworks we present to you.
